Rutgers Men Wrap Up Competition at the 2008 IC4A Championships

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Rutgers men's track and field team collected 21 points to finish in a tie with Manhattan College for 15th place at the 2008 IC4A Outdoor Championships in Princeton on Sunday, May 18.

Sophomore Jeremy Pennino (Watchung, N.J.) provided one of the highlights for the weekend as he recorded an NCAA Regional qualifier in the javelin. Pennino posted a throw of 202' 10" to place fifth in the event. Senior Jahmone Duhaney (Boonton, N.J.) also registered an NCAA Regional qualifier in the 400-meter hurdles. Duhaney clocked a time of 52.35 in the preliminaries, advancing to the next round; however, he did not record a time in the finals.

Sophomore Bruce Owens (Wenonah, N.J.) took fifth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.89 to add to the Scarlet Knights' point total. The 4x100 and 4x400 meter relay teams finished fourth and fifth, respectively to round out the scoring for RU in the track events. The 4x100-meter group ran a time of 41.41, while the 4x400-meter squad clocked a time of 3:11.92.
